Amran: Martyr Saleh al-Sammad Hospital in Amran governorate held an event on Tuesday to mark World Laboratory Day, highlighting the critical role of laboratory services in healthcare.
According to Yemen News Agency, Amran governor Dr. Faisal Juma’an emphasized the importance of laboratory professionals in ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment, referring to them as a cornerstone of the health system. The hospital’s director, Dr. Abdulghani Faris, stated that the event was aimed at raising awareness of the vital roles laboratories play while reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to modernizing the department despite ongoing challenges.
The event was marked by the inauguration of a new Infection Control Unit, the launch of cutting-edge equipment, and an expansion of the laboratory department. Officials also took the opportunity to outline development plans for the year 2026, focusing on improving performance and services.
The ceremony concluded with a session honoring the laboratory staff, which included presentations on diagnostic laboratory services, attended by local officials and medical personnel.
