Amran:The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Amran University marked World Pharmacists Day by hosting a scientific event organized by the college's Pharmacy Department and the Omaran University Institute under the theme "Horizons of Pharmacy.. Medicine with Vigilance and Awareness."
According to Yemen News Agency, University president Dr. Muhammad Al-Dhalai emphasized the significant responsibility pharmacists hold in serving patients and society. He noted that their role extends beyond dispensing medications to ensuring drug quality and safety, appropriate dosing, monitoring drug interactions, and providing counseling. Dr. Al-Dhalai highlighted the necessity of integration between physicians and clinical pharmacists.
He also commended the Pharmacy Department's efforts and suggested expanding scientific activities to include fields such as nursing, laboratories, midwifery, and nutrition.
Dean Dr. Muhammad Al-Iryani highlighted the importance of pharmacists in reviewing prescriptions and drug interactions. He encouraged students to pursue continuous learning and professional development, combining scientific knowledge with a humanitarian approach.
During the event, students delivered a speech affirming that World Pharmacists Day represents appreciation for a humanitarian mission grounded in science and trust, emphasizing the pharmacist's vital role in the healthcare system. The event also featured practical lectures and displays of pharmaceutical preparations created by students.
