Amran: The Amran Water Basin Committee, led by Governor Dr. Faisal Juma'an, convened to discuss the requests for drilling new and pending wells in various districts of the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included Deputy Governor Amin Faras and committee members, focused on evaluating 14 new well requests and 6 pending requests, resulting in the approval of several. Governor Juma'an stressed the importance of collaborating with relevant authorities to enhance oversight, prevent unauthorized drilling, enforce regulations on rig owners, and increase public awareness about water conservation and groundwater protection.
Engineer Fahd al-Sufyani, Director of the Water Resources Branch, provided technical insights and site-specific observations for the proposed wells, contributing to the committee's decision-making process.
