Al-hodeidah: The National Union of Associations for People with Disabilities in Al-Hodeidah Governorate concluded the annual 'Martyr of the Quran' competition for people with disabilities, under the patronage of Governor Abdullah Atifi, supervised by the Social Affairs and Labor Office, supported and funded by Yemen Mobile Company.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor for Services, Mohammed Hleisi, emphasized the importance of supporting people with disabilities and integrating them into society, especially through the Quran, which represents a stronghold for generations. He noted that the competition reflects the determination and resilience of people with disabilities in facing challenges and transforming their disabilities into energy and creativity.
Deputy Governor Hleisi praised the efforts of the Union of People with Disabilities and the supporting entities, particularly Yemen Mobile, affirming the local authority's commitment to removing all obstacles for activities and programs that serve this valued group and enhance their spiritual and cultural development.
Meanwhile, Ziad Jabli, President of the National Union of Associations for People with Disabilities in Al-Hodeidah, explained that the competition aims to encourage association members to memorize the Quran and foster a spirit of healthy competition. He expressed appreciation for the support of the governorate leadership, the Social Affairs and Labor Office, and Yemen Mobile in ensuring the success of the event.
Anwar Al-Haymi, representing Yemen Mobile, stated that the company's support for the competition aligns with its social responsibility and commitment to nurturing talented individuals with special needs. He emphasized that Yemen Mobile will continue to lead in supporting purposeful projects that serve the community and strengthen spiritual identity values.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the winners were honored. Khadija Khalid Al-Haidari from the Blind Association won first place, while Hisham Wali from the Qati' Association secured second place. In the twenty-part category, Abdullah Fadl from the Blind Association achieved first place, followed by Abdul Latif Al-Ahdal from the Bayt Al-Faqih Association in second place. In the ten-part category, Mustafa Murad Al-Maqtari took first place, with Issam Al-Wasabi in second. In the five-part category, Afrah Jabli won first place, and Sara Mohammed Hadi secured second place.
