Sana'a: A meeting held in the capital brought together Deputy Chairman of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption Raidan al-Mutawakil and Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi to discuss the priority matrix of the joint coordination team's work plan for 1447 AH. The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening joint coordination to expedite measures aimed at protecting public funds, collecting tax and customs revenues, and combating tax evasion and smuggling in line with the team's priorities and the government's reform program.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants reviewed the level of progress achieved by the joint coordination team in previous tasks and emphasized the need to enhance anti-corruption measures, develop technical systems, and improve administrative and functional mechanisms to promote efficiency and integrity among employees. Both al-Mutawakil and Mahdi affirmed the readiness of the Anti-Corruption Authority and the Tax and Customs Authority to overcome obstacles and implement measures related to corruption prevention and control, while prioritizing key tax and customs files through strengthened data exchange and case tracking.
