Sanaa: Ridhwan Al-Mutawakel, Vice Chairman of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Authority, received the third financial disclosure statement from Dr. Ibrahim Ali Mahdi, Acting Chairman of the Tax and Customs Authority, during a ceremony held on Saturday. The event was attended by members of the Authority including Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Kumaim, Engineer Harith Al-Omari, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh, and Salem Al-Sayani. Al-Mutawakel acknowledged Dr. Mahdi's adherence to the Financial Disclosure Law No. (30) of 2006 and expressed his best wishes for Mahdi's success in fulfilling his duties within the government's reform and development agenda.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Mutawakel underscored the Authority's commitment to fostering collaboration with the Tax and Customs Authority, in line with current priorities. These efforts aim at achieving financial reforms, combating corruption, and bolstering revenue collection, particularly in the context of challenges posed by aggression and blockade. A joint task force is actively working to address these objectives.
Dr. Mahdi, on his part, reiterated that his submission of the financial disclosure was a demonstration of compliance with the law and his dedication to maintaining the integrity of public officials. He emphasized the Tax and Customs Authority's intent to strengthen its partnership with the Anti-Corruption Authority to prevent and fight corruption, aiming for the achievement of shared goals.
