Sana'a: The founding meeting of the Arhab Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society was held on Thursday in the Arhab district of Sana'a governorate. The society's bylaws were approved, and its administrative board and oversight committee were elected.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, Walid Qanbour, Director of the Governorate's Tribal Affairs Authority branch, and Khalid Al-Aqida, Director of the district, emphasized the importance of agricultural cooperative societies in serving the community across various developmental, service, and agricultural sectors. They viewed the establishment of the society as a pivotal step in serving the community economically, agriculturally, developmentally, and socially.
They affirmed the local authority's commitment to supporting the society's efforts and urged widespread participation to achieve comprehensive development and ultimately self-sufficiency. For his part, Mohammed Najad, Director of Associations and Unions at the Governorate's Social Affairs and Labor Office, highlighted the significance of establishing the society as a fundamental pillar of development in various fields.
Najad explained that the elected administrative body will be under continuous evaluation by the Social Affairs Office and relevant authorities. He stressed the necessity for associations to adhere to guidelines aimed at raising the level of cooperative and developmental work.
