Azal District Schools in Capital Launch “Have Mercy” Initiative on Occasion of Prophet’s Birthday

Capital sana'a: Undersecretary Dr. Qanaf al-Marrani and Director of Azal District Mohammed al-Ghulaisi on Tuesday launched the "Have Mercy" initiative. The initiative aims to distribute school bags and uniforms to students in the district's schools on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative, implemented by the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Azal district, targets 1,000 male and female students from impoverished families across the district's schools. This initiative is part of the charitable and social solidarity activities accompanying the celebrations of the Prophet's birthday.

At the inauguration ceremony, attended by the Directorate's Mobilization Officer, Abdullah Al-Bahiri, the Directors of the Educational District, Abdulrahman Al-Fasih, and the Social Affairs Office, Anisa Al-Harasi, as well as the Head of the Parents' Council, Allama Sharaf Al-Wadi'i, school bags and uniforms were distributed to male and female students at Bilal bin Rabah and Shajra schools.

Al-Ghulaisi and Al-Bahiri emphasized the importance of these initiatives, which promote the values of charity and social solidarity, and embody the practical emulation of the Prophet's values of mercy and humanity and his noble example. They called upon the affluent and benevolent to actively contribute to supporting such projects that strengthen social and educational resilience.

Al-Ghulaisi explained that distributing uniforms and school bags to 1,000 male and female students directly contributes to encouraging students to enroll in schools and alleviates the financial burden on their families.

Meanwhile, educational activities and events continued in the schools of Azal District, in celebration of the Prophet's birthday (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Bilal bin Rabah and Sam bin Nuh schools organized two events with the participation of the Deputy Secretary of the Capital Governorate, Dr. Qanaf al-Murani, the Director of the Directorate, Muhammad al-Ghulaisi, the Mobilization Officer, Abdullah al-Bahiri, the Director of the Educational District, Abdulrahman al-Fasih, and educational leaders and staff.

Al-Marrani and al-Bahiri emphasized the importance of commemorating this significant religious occasion to instill values, morals, and the principles of the Prophet Muhammad in the hearts of students and youth, and to strengthen their connection to and emulation of their noble Prophet, his righteous path, and his exemplary life.

The students presented a number of recitations, poems, cultural performances, and a meaningful and expressive play about the occasion, its greatness, and its place in the hearts of Yemenis. On the sidelines of the event at Sam bin Nuh School, the participants inaugurated an exhibition of models and educational materials and visited several classrooms decorated with phrases and slogans celebrating this significant occasion.
