Hajjah: The Bani Al Awam Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative in Hajjah province received an electric generator from the local authority and mobilization in the province to operate its coffee roasting plant, aiming to improve manufacturing efficiency and enhance product value.
According to Yemen News Agency, the head of the agricultural sector in the province, Hassan Hazazi, explained that the local authority's support for the cooperative is part of ongoing efforts by provincial leadership to support value chains, develop agricultural production, and activate development initiatives. These initiatives fall within strategic programs aimed at enhancing local production capacities and improving the quality of the authentic Yemeni crop.
The head of the cooperative, Sameer Al Shatbi, praised the local authority and mobilization for their support of agricultural cooperatives, emphasizing their commitment to advancing the agricultural sector in Bani Al Awam. He highlighted the electric generator's role in developing the production process and value chains in the coffee sector. This new equipment is expected to increase production, purchasing power, promotion, and sale of various coffee products, including husk, ground, roasted, and pure coffee, with high quality.
Al Shatbi noted that Bani Al Awam district is a prominent exporter of high-quality coffee in the province, with its agricultural sector experiencing notable expansion. The district's annual production is estimated at six thousand and five hundred tons. The cooperative aims to meet the needs of the other plant to ensure the production system operates at full capacity in the district.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the agricultural sector, the agricultural cooperative union, Bonyan Foundation, and others who contributed to providing the electric generator and supporting the operation of one of the coffee roasting plants.
