Sana'a: The General Authority for Insurance and Pensions commenced the disbursement of the second half of the August 2021 pension payments to retired civilian employees on Tuesday. This initiative is part of a temporary exceptional mechanism intended to support the salary bill of state employees.
According to Yemen News Agency, Chairman Ibrahim al-Haifi emphasized that the disbursement process aligns with Law No. 2 of 1446 AH, which mandates regular pension payments through 12 annual disbursement operations. This effort is a result of intensive coordination with the Ministers of Finance and Civil Service and Administrative Development, ensuring the consistent payment of pensions under the Government of Change and Construction program. Al-Haifi highlighted the government's dedication to retirees, acknowledging their long-term contributions to the nation.
Retirees and authorized beneficiaries have been urged to visit post offices with the necessary documentation to receive their pension payments. Al-Haifi also expressed appreciation for the collaboration of various authorities, particularly Central Bank Governor Hashem Ismail, and the employees of the Authority, the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance, the Central Bank, and the Postal Authority, all of whom played crucial roles in the successful execution of the payment process.
