Baras Condemns Killings and Arrests by STC Militias in Hadramout

Hadramout: The local authority in Hadramout province has condemned the killings and arrests committed by elements of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, Hadramout Governor Luqman Baras, in a statement, denounced the brutal crime committed by the Emirati-funded STC militia aligned with the Dabba Axis, after they executed young man Amr Ali Al-Hammoumi, pulling him from his vehicle in the Dabdub area of Al-Shihr city last Wednesday.

He also condemned the kidnapping and torture of young man Maqtoof Salmeen Al-Alyi from Ghayl Bin Yamin district by the so-called 'Security Support Forces,' describing them as terrorist forces. Al-Alyi later died from severe injuries after his leg was amputated a few days earlier due to the torture he suffered.

Baras described these crimes as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of Yemeni tribal norms and customs. He held the mercenaries in occupied Hadramout fully responsible for the killings and arrests targeting the people of the province, particularly the Al-Homoom tribes.

The governor confirmed that the killings and kidnappings - now reaching 17 abductions - reflect the state of chaos, insecurity, and instability gripping the southern and eastern provinces as a result of the Saudi-Emirati occupation, which fuels internal conflicts between residents of the occupied areas.

He added that these crimes are part of a broader pattern of killings and abuses committed by Saudi-Emirati occupation forces and their proxies, especially after turning the southern and eastern provinces into competing zones of influence for armed militias.

Governor Baras called on all people of Hadramout and the occupied provinces to unite, stand together, and continue armed resistance to end Saudi-Emirati domination and its divisive colonial projects.
