Bayda: Governor of Bayda Abdullah Idris on Tuesday inspected ongoing work on the Western Ring Road project in Bayda city, a key infrastructure initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and urban road conditions.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Governor Abdullah Idris reviewed the progress of excavation, filling, expansion, and asphalt paving works on the Western Ring Road, a project costing 300 million Yemeni riyals and jointly funded by the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund. The governor listened to a briefing from the project consultant on the implementation of the first phase, which includes road widening, maintenance, paving, and the construction of central medians. The project is expected to enhance the city's road network and facilitate smoother traffic movement.
Idris noted that additional road and bridge projects across various districts of Bayda governorate have been contracted at a total cost of two billion riyals, also financed through a partnership between the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund. He emphasized that these projects are being closely monitored on the ground.
He urged contractors to accelerate work and complete the project in accordance with approved engineering standards to help reduce congestion and improve mobility. Idris also highlighted that road projects are a top priority within the governorate's development plans aimed at boosting economic activity and improving public services. The governor reaffirmed the local authority's commitment to enhancing services and easing the hardships faced by citizens.
