Sana'a: The Board of Directors of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled convened today under the leadership of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajala, who also serves as the Board Chairman. The meeting resulted in the approval of the Fund's final accounts for the fiscal year 2022-2023, presented by the Fund's Executive Director, Dr. Ali Mughli. The accounts were approved after a thorough review and consideration of the submitted comments.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Board also granted initial approval for the 2026 spending plan proposed by the Executive Administration. This approval is a preliminary legal procedure, and the plan will be further discussed and reviewed in partnership with the Ministry of Finance. The Board emphasized the importance of translating the economic empowerment aspect of the spending plan into actionable steps.
The session addressed the Fund's outstanding debts, with the Board deciding to assign several members the task of meeting with representatives from Kamran Company. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the debt situation further and present a comprehensive report at the next board meeting.
Additionally, the meeting covered the ongoing Al-Ihsan Hospital project for individuals with disabilities. Discussions included the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Health and efforts to secure funding for the project. The Qatar Red Crescent Society has expressed readiness to contribute financially to the initiative. The Board approved conducting a comprehensive study on the hospital project and commended the efforts of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in overcoming the project's challenges. The Board highlighted the project's significance in enhancing medical and therapeutic services for the disabled community.
