Sana'a: A joint field campaign was carried out in Hamdan District, Sana'a Governorate, to remove street stalls, accumulated waste, and encroachments in the district's streets and markets.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign, implemented by the Works Sector in the district in cooperation with the Cleaning and Improvement Fund and the Traffic Department branch, aimed to remove encroachments, remove violating stalls, and clear waste that causes traffic congestion and obstruction of movement from sidewalks and central islands in the Shamlan roundabout, Al-Sawdah commercial street, and Wadi Dahr road.
The head of Works in the district, Engineer Abed Shayea, explained that the campaign comes in implementation of the directives of the governorate leadership, the Works Office in the province, and the local authority in the district, to improve the aesthetic appearance of the streets and facilitate the movement of vehicles and citizens.
He stated that the field teams, in cooperation with security agencies, removed a number of stalls from the Shamlan and Hamdan markets and the 16th Street commercial area, as well as vegetable carts, and removed vendors from the central islands, relocating them to adjacent markets.
Shayea affirmed that the campaign's work and efforts are continuing to remove encroachments, construction waste, and stalls from sidewalks and central islands until vendors comply with entering the markets and stop selling on public streets.
