Sana'a: Several districts of the capital, including al-Tahrir, Bani al-Harith, Old Sana'a city, al-Safia, and al-Sabeen, hosted popular cultural events and evening gatherings marking the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
According to Yemen News Agency, in al-Tahrir district, Capital undersecretary Abdullatif al-Omari, along with district director Naji al-Shay'ani and the educational zone director Issam al-Abed, participated in events at Ard al-Hadara and al-Furat schools. Additionally, residents of al-Zira'a Al-Janoubiya, Blood Bank, and Ahfad Bilal organized three evening gatherings attended by Mohamed Al-Shahari, Director of the Transport Sector in the capital, local officials, and social figures.
In Bani al-Harith, cultural evenings were held in al-Rawda and al-Matar neighborhoods. During the event in Al-Rawda, attended by Deputy Security Director of the capital Brigadier General Ahmed al-Afqi, District Director Hamid Bin Rakan emphasized that Yemenis celebrate this occasion out of love and reverence for the Prophet. He highlighted the annual tradition of celebrating the Prophet's birthday, praised the organizing efforts of the Ali Al-Tabatabi family, and stressed Yemenis' dedication to supporting the oppressed people of Gaza and Palestine.
The events featured speeches, religious chants, the 'Muhammadi Spring' operetta, and poems by poet Saqr al-Lahaji, highlighting the significance of commemorating the Prophet's birth.
In al-Sabeen district, residents organized cultural evenings attended by Deputy Assistant Governor Abdullah Al-Hajri, district director Mohamed Al-Washli, local officials, tribal elders, and social figures. In Old Sanaa, an event was held at the Grand Mosque with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Al-Junaid, Director of the Finance Office in the capital, and district director Mahdi Arhab. Al-Safiyah district also hosted several cultural and speech events organized by residents.
Across all districts, events included speeches, religious chants, poetry, and recitations emphasizing reverence for the Prophet. Organizers called for wide participation in the major central celebration on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal at al-Sabeen Square.
