Capital sana'a: Mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad on Saturday launched road rehabilitation and traffic improvement works in the southern sector of the Capital Sana'a, funded by the local authority, as part of preparations for the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday (Mawlid) celebrations.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ubad, accompanied by Undersecretary for Public Works Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Houthi and Agriculture Sector Official Mohammed Hajer, inspected ongoing work to rehabilitate concrete sidewalks, curbs, and landscaping along 40th Street east of the Presidency, 14 October Street, and Police Street. The projects are being carried out by the Executive Unit for Road Construction and Maintenance and Public Places.
Officials also reviewed traffic improvement works targeting the central medians of 60 Street, 40th Street, Police Officers Club Street, and 14 October Street.
Ubad stated that more than 11 field teams had begun implementing road improvements, painting, and landscaping across the southern sector of the capital, alongside continuing maintenance and repairs of damaged roads and potholes.
He mentioned that the works aim to enhance the city's appearance as part of preparations for commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday.
The mayor also inspected emergency road maintenance and asphalt repair works along Al-Nasr Street, from Sheraton Bridge to Ayah Roundabout in Shu'ub district.
