Capital Police Arrest Suspects in Murder of Citizen Wafaa Al-Basha

Sana’a: The Capital Police have arrested all suspects involved in the murder of 35-year-old citizen Wafaa Saddam Al-Basha, which occurred Friday evening near the Ministry of Information building. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), police said the victim was inside her Kia Soul vehicle when suspects Mohammed Jibran Sweid Al-Qaisi (20) and Issam Mohammed Yahya Al-Aqeedah broke the car window and assaulted her, prompting residents in the area to intervene.



According to Yemen News Agency, the second suspect forced the victim to the back seat and attempted to flee with the vehicle, at which point local resident Abdulrahman Majed Mohammed Al-Sawadi fired at the car, striking Al-Basha with a bullet that proved fatal. The statement added that after realizing she had been killed, the suspect Al-Aqeedah stopped the vehicle and fled. Security forces immediately launched an investigation, moved to the crime scene, followed legal procedures, and managed to arrest all involved.



The Capital Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the case will be referred to the competent authorities upon completion.
