Dhamar: The Civil Defense Authority branch in Dhamar governorate launched today awareness activities for summer school attendees in Dhamar city in the fields of public safety and civil defense.
According to Yemen News Agency, the activities focused on raising awareness about the dangers of rain, floods, fires, and fireworks, along with practical and theoretical training on how to deal with fires, evacuation and rescue methods, and some basic first aid skills, contributing to reducing potential losses from accidents and disasters.
The director of the authority branch in the governorate, Colonel Mujahid Al Asadi, explained that implementing these activities represents an important step in enhancing safety and security aspects, instilling preventive concepts, firefighting, rescue, and first aid skills among youth and adolescents. This initiative aims to enable them to act properly during emergencies and help reduce human and material losses.
He affirmed that the branch pays great attention to awareness and training, especially given the increasing risks and the lack of awareness about prevention methods and proper handling during disasters and dangers. He stressed the importance of uniting community efforts to enhance public safety and prevention measures.
