Civil Defense Teams Contain Fire in Sanaa Displacement Camp

Sanaa: Civil defense teams in the Capital Sanaa successfully extinguished a fire that erupted in a displacement camp located in the Al Qubbah neighborhood within the Ma'in district. The concerted efforts of the emergency services prevented the fire from spreading to nearby areas and ensured the swift evacuation of the injured to the Republican Hospital for treatment.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Ubad, along with the First Deputy of the Secretariat, Khalid Al Madani, and other officials, visited the site to assess the damage and review the official and community response efforts. They commended the prompt action taken to suppress the fire and outlined immediate relief measures for affected families, emphasizing the importance of providing urgent support and shelter.

The Mayor instructed the Emergency Operations Room and relevant agencies to assess the damage and offer necessary assistance to the displaced families. He highlighted the need for collective action in response to such emergencies and stressed the importance of preparedness.

The Director of the Civil Defense Branch in the Secretariat, Colonel Mohammed Buhaysh, explained that the fire resulted in injuries to five individuals, who have since been hospitalized. The presence of flammable materials like plastic tarpaulins contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, prompting an investigation by security agencies to ascertain the cause.

Brigadier General Fadhl Al Saadi, Deputy Director of the Civil Defense Authority, praised the efficiency and readiness of the civil defense teams in managing the situation. He urged citizens and facility owners to comply with safety standards to prevent future incidents and minimize potential losses.
