Sana'a: Leaders from the multi-purpose agricultural cooperative associations of the Western Sector in Sana'a governorate, and Kataf and Al Salem in Saada governorate, discussed today aspects of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the developmental field between the two sides.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the Secretary General of the Western Sector Association, Ahmed Al Faqih, the Executive Director, Fawzi Al Qara'fi, the head of the Kataf Association, Mohammed Nasher, and the head of the Al Salem Association, Mubarak Daji. They reviewed developmental activities, the mechanism for establishing the Western Sector Association, understanding its working mechanism, and coordinating joint work to activate community initiatives.
Following the meeting, the leaders of Kataf and Al Salem associations visited several facilities of the Western Sector Cooperative Association, where they reviewed the documentation cycle, archiving and documentation methods, and the financial and administrative working mechanism. They also learned about the activity and tasks of the association's veterinary clinic, as well as the agricultural lands in the Yazel area, and the legume crops produced by the association and provided to farmers through interest-free loans, along with learning about the field schools in the district and the types of grains produced by the association during past agricultural seasons.
They listened to the contract farming officer, Akram Muteer, who provided a detailed explanation about the nature of seasonal crops, vegetables, and legumes characteristic of the Western Sector districts, including Bani Matar district in the Yazel area, and the mechanisms of training and field rehabilitation to advance the agricultural sector and establish a culture of voluntary work and self-initiatives.
The visitors also listened to the financial accountant, Mohammed Qasim, who explained the association's summaries and statistics since its establishment, construction, training, and rehabilitation, and how to provide loans, archiving, the financial and administrative system, and the association's working mechanism.
The leaders of Kataf and Al Salem associations praised the successful developmental model of the Western Sector Association in Sana'a governorate, affirming their determination to transfer this experience and apply it in Saada governorate, and to embark on the developmental experience in the governorate following the same steps and approach adopted by Sana'a, to enhance the developmental front through well-studied and fruitful steps.
For his part, the head of the Western Sector Agricultural Cooperative Association, Abdul Karim Al Qara'fi, welcomed the visit of developmental leaders from Saada governorate, aiming to enhance cooperation and coordination among all to advance developmental aspects, foremost among them the agricultural sector, affirming that the visit of the developmental leaders of Kataf and Al Salem associations will open new horizons for cooperation between the associations of the two governorates in the developmental field.
