Sana'a: The Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority has issued a renewed call for citizens with expired ID cards to ensure they complete the renewal procedures before the deadline on November 3. This deadline marks the end of an exceptional three-month extension period.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Authority has emphasized that this extension is final and will not be prolonged further. They have warned that any ID cards not renewed by the deadline will be marked as invalid. Consequently, these expired ID cards will not be recognized for official or private transactions by government agencies or private institutions.
The Authority also noted that any renewal applications submitted after the deadline would incur applicable fines. To assist citizens, the Authority has implemented technical and administrative measures to facilitate and expedite the renewal procedures at its branches across the governorates and districts.
Previously, the Authority extended the validity of expired ID cards for a non-renewable period of three months starting on August 3. This decision followed directives from the Interior Minister and requests from the Central Bank of Yemen, as well as the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Development, taking into account citizens' circumstances.
