Combat Sports Championships Kick Off as Part of Mawlid Al-Nabawi Cup in Dhamar

Dhamar: The competitions in Taekwondo, Karate, and Kung Fu have officially begun on Thursday at the halls of Najm Saba Club in Dhamar, as part of the Mawlid Al-Nabawi Cup Games for the year 1447 AH.

According to Yemen News Agency, over 300 athletes are participating in the combat sports events, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in collaboration with local sports federations, competing across three age categories: 'Buds, Juniors, and Youth.'

Meanwhile, the Dhamar Youth volleyball team has qualified for the final against Al-Ahmadi from Radaa in the Mawlid Al-Nabawi Cup, after defeating Salam Maabar in the group stage with two clean sets. Dhamar Youth finished second in the overall standings, behind the leading Al-Ahmadi team from Radaa, which maintained its top position with a straight-sets victory over Salam Maabar. The two teams are scheduled to face each other in the championship final on Tuesday afternoon.

In the football tournament, Shoab Warqa Dhamar secured the third quarter-final spot via penalty shootouts against Yahsub Yarem. Meanwhile, Ittihad Al-Salah Dhamar claimed the first quarter-final ticket after defeating Nasr Talhama Maabar 2-1.

Shabab Haziz from Radaa also advanced to the semi-finals with a 4-2 victory over Khalid Al-Ghamri Trading from Dhamar.
