Sana'a: Several government offices and sectoral bodies in Sana'a governorate organized a commemorative event on Monday to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, highlighting the values of sacrifice, steadfastness, and adherence to religious principles.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by the governorate's offices of Health and Environment, Taxation, Real Estate Taxation, Customs, and Slaughterhouses, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the agriculture, culture, and technical education and vocational training sectors.
Speaking at the event, Head of Technical Education in Sana'a Governorate, Aziz al-Rajali, reviewed the circumstances and challenges that led Imam Hussein, known as the Master of Martyrs, to launch his uprising against tyranny and injustice in an effort to reform the condition of the Muslim community. He also traced the historical path of the Islamic nation from the early days of Islam to the present, highlighting contemporary challenges facing the country and emphasizing the significance of martyrdom in Islam and the sacrifices made in support of the faith.
In a speech on behalf of the organizing offices, Dr. Ahmed Sharaf Al-Din addressed the economic hardships and blockade affecting Yemen, linking current challenges to broader historical and political developments. He called for drawing inspiration from the moral and spiritual values embodied in Imam Hussein's life and applying them to contemporary realities.
For his part, Ibrahim Hamid Al-Din, Director of Awareness at the General Authority of Zakat Office, described the commemoration as a faith-based occasion that strengthens attachment to religious values and national identity. He urged participants to learn from Imam Hussein's example of perseverance and sacrifice in confronting injustice and pursuing reform.
