Community-Funded Road Initiative Launched in Al-Hodeidah

Al-hodeidah: First Deputy Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Ahmed Al-Bishri, alongside Assistant Deputy Governor Ghalib Hamzah, inaugurated a community-funded initiative to grade and fill the Al-Zuhra-Deir Al-Akhrash road in the Al-Zuhra and Al-Luhayyah districts.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative is supervised by the local authority with contributions from various official and development entities. The Al-Zuhra and Al-Luhayyah Associations are spearheading the project with community participation and support from the Initiative Administration, the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Funding Unit, the Al-Hodeidah Support and Development Fund, the General Authority of Zakat, the Tihama Development Authority, the Bonyan Development Foundation, and the local branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union. Spanning 16.5 kilometers and costing 192,585,000 riyals, the project aims to enhance rural road networks, ease mobility, and assist farmers.

During the inauguration, Deputy Governor Al-Bishri highlighted the community and institutional engagement in improving road services and advancing rural development. He commended the residents of both districts for their collaborative efforts in executing the project, underlining the importance the governorate places on community-based initiatives that enhance infrastructure and serve rural and agricultural regions.

Yahya Al-Wad'ee, Director of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Funding Unit, Mohammed Haza'a, Director of the General Authority of Zakat Office, Dr. Riyadh Mater, Director of the Al-Hodeidah Support and Development Fund, and Hadi Haij, Head of the Initiatives Unit, reiterated the initiative's role in strengthening rural infrastructure and facilitating access to essential services. They noted the project's success in integrating state institutions and the community in service-oriented initiatives, expressing their commitment to similar future projects across various districts.

Additionally, Abdulrahman Al-Rifa'i, Director of Al-Zuhra District, emphasized the road's significance in connecting villages and farms, aiding citizens' movement and the transport of agricultural products. He underscored the need for ongoing collaboration to sustain initiatives contributing to local development.
