Sana'a: The Ministry of Information held a ceremony on Sunday in the capital Sana'a to honor the winners of the 2025 'Most Beautiful Yemeni Flag Photo' contest. The event celebrated creativity, national pride, and the enduring symbolism of the Yemeni flag. The competition, organized for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Information, aims to foster patriotism and deepen the sense of national belonging among youth, amateur photographers, and creative artists.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti congratulated the winners, emphasizing the ministry's continued commitment to the legacy of the late Minister Hashem Sharaf al-Din, who founded the competition. He highlighted the significance of promoting national unity and loyalty, especially in the current climate of external pressures and conspiracies targeting Yemen's identity. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti stressed the importance of ideas and contributions rooted in loyalty to the country and praised the sacrifices of Yemen's martyrs, including Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi and the late Minister Hashem Sharaf al-Din, for their efforts to elevate the media's role in confronting external challenges.
Mohammed Mansour, Undersecretary for External Relations and Media Affairs, also praised the participants for their artistic representations of the national flag through photography and visual art, which expressed a strong sense of identity, loyalty, and patriotism. He emphasized that Yemen needs talented youth and visionary individuals to continue overcoming challenges and achieving victories on all fronts, while also stressing the importance of following the example of Yemen's martyrs, who made ultimate sacrifices in defense of national and regional causes, particularly the Palestinian cause.
Abdulaziz Omar, head of the competition's judging committee, commended the winners for their outstanding entries, noting the diversity and creativity demonstrated by the 20 finalists. He described the competition as a homegrown initiative reflecting Yemeni identity and pride, which has now evolved into a platform for national artistic excellence. Omar detailed the selection process, which involved over 2,000 photo submissions, and explained that after thorough screening and evaluation, the judging committee unanimously selected the winning entries.
