Sana'a: A training course in the field of development work, organized by the Local Council in the district, Bonyan Development Foundation, and Bonyan Academy for Training and Qualification, concluded today in Shu'aub District of the Capital Sana'a, as part of the volunteer support program.
According to Yemen News Agency, the 15-day course, supported by the Unit for Financing Agricultural and Fishery Projects and Initiatives at the Secretariat in cooperation with the Office of Social Affairs and Labor and the Agricultural Cooperative Union at the Secretariat, aimed to equip 28 trainees from the "Development Knights" with the basics of voluntary work, developmental resources, community initiatives, and urban development.
During the closing ceremony, the Secretary-General of Shu'aub District, Mohammed Al-Hadhrami, highlighted the role of the "Development Knights" program in preparing volunteers in the field of development work for the current stage and preparing for the upcoming stages. He praised the role of the Financing Unit in building the capacities of local cadres and involving the community in development and facing challenges, noting the efforts of Bonyan Foundation and Academy in training developmental cadres and qualifying the staff of the cooperative association in the district to be role models for others.
Al-Hadhrami explained that the trainees, who represent the Shu'aub Cooperative Association at various levels, are ambassadors to transfer their expertise and experiences to their communities to bring about a developmental revolution in the district.
For his part, the Mobilization Official in Shu'aub, Abdullah Al-Kawl, pointed out that the current stage requires more cooperation, solidarity, social cohesion, strengthening factors of resilience and steadfastness, and collective and participatory work between the Development Knights and the community to succeed and accomplish many service works and projects in all fields. He emphasized the importance of activating community initiatives in the developmental aspect and adopting projects that contribute to achieving food security, leading to self-sufficiency, and completing all projects through community contributions.
For his part, the Coordinator of Bonyan Foundation in Shu'aub, Al-Thawra, and Al-Wehdah districts, Mohammed Awadh, urged the participants to benefit from everything they learned in the workshop and reflect it in practical reality, take responsibility, and turn challenges into opportunities to bring about a real upsurge in production and development. He pointed out the necessity of integrating roles between the various parties to revive the principle of volunteering and community initiatives and encourage collective work, referring to the importance of the role of the Development Knights in advancing local development, stimulating initiatives, and activating the role of the community in multiple developments, especially agricultural development.
Meanwhile, the speech of the participants affirmed their keenness to reflect all that they have received in practical reality and convey it to the community to revive and implement the tasks assigned to them and activate cooperative developmental work in Shu'aub District.
