Sana'a: Al-Manar Hospital in Ibb Governorate concluded today the fourth free medical camp for mental and neurological disorders, held as part of the hospital's ongoing humanitarian initiatives to serve the community.
According to Yemen News Agency, over the course of three days, the camp provided free medical and therapeutic services to more than 320 patients suffering from psychological and neurological conditions, particularly from low-income and vulnerable families across different age groups.
The hospital's Director General, Dr. Jamal Al-Shami, stated that the camp is part of a series of medical initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of patients and their families. He noted that the camp was distinguished by the comprehensiveness of its medical services, which included clinical consultations, laboratory tests, free medication, as well as psychological and behavioral therapy sessions and electroencephalogram (EEG) testing.
Dr. Al-Shami added that the program also featured specialized consultations and awareness sessions on the importance of early diagnosis of mental and neurological disorders, commending the hospital's medical staff for their efforts in ensuring the camp's success.
Meanwhile, the hospital's Medical Director, Dr. Marwan Al-Daari, and psychiatrist and neurologist Dr. Asma Al-Mahaqari, explained that the cases treated included depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, seizures, epilepsy, psychotic disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), among others. They emphasized that offering free medical services encouraged many patients to come forward for treatment and follow-up care.
