Amran: The Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad Ramadan Football Tournament concluded today in Amran Governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office with the participation of 15 sports teams from various districts of the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Kahraba Tofan Al-Aqsa team emerged victorious in the tournament after defeating the Al-Salam team with five goals to three in a penalty shootout. This result came after a goalless draw during the regular playtime of the final match held at the grass academy stadium in Amran city.
The tournament's conclusion was marked by a ceremony where the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Abdullah Al-Wadaei, and the Deputy General Director of the Amran Cement Factory, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Suraimi, presented the Kahraba Tofan Al-Aqsa team with the Martyr Al-Sammad Cup, gold medals, and cash prizes. The Al-Salam team was awarded the second-place cup, silver medals, and cash prizes.
Al-Wadaei and Al-Suraimi highlighted the significance of the Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad Ramadan Football Tournament as a means to honor the memory of the martyr Al-Sammad. They emphasized its role in fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and youth engagement among the participating teams, as well as in identifying football talents within the governorate.
