Taiz: The second free surgical medical camp concluded today at Hijdah Rural Hospital in the Maqbanah district of Taiz governorate. The camp lasted for a week and was organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Environment, the local authority, and the governorate health office.
According to Yemen News Agency, the director of Hijdah Rural Hospital, Dr. Wadah Dabwan, stated that the camp successfully performed 200 surgeries. These included hemorrhoidectomy, tonsillectomy, hernia surgery, and the removal of sebaceous cysts. He emphasized that the hospital used all its resources and equipment to provide safe and free healthcare to patients from the surrounding villages and sub-districts.
Dr. Mohammed Al Abbasi, the director of medical services at the health office, highlighted the goal of localizing surgical services in rural hospitals through such camps. He noted the importance of supporting poor and displaced families who cannot afford surgeries in private hospitals. Al Abbasi mentioned that these initiatives are part of the Ministry of Health's leadership directives to promote social solidarity and improve health facilities in remote areas.
He also expressed gratitude to the medical, technical, and administrative staff for their hard work and dedication during the camp.
