Conclusion of Training Workshop for Deputy Directors of Central Prisons & Detention Centers

Sana'a: The Rehabilitation and Reform Department at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in Sana'a concluded a training course for deputy directors of central prisons and detention centers in the capital and governorates ('Level One').

According to Yemen News Agency, the three-day course aimed to familiarize 20 trainees with the fundamentals of modern management, enhance administrative work, and strengthen capabilities in security planning, administrative reporting, and financial regulations. It also covered organized methods for inmate protection, leadership, control, and all practices necessary to carry out tasks efficiently and smoothly.

At the closing ceremony, the Department's Deputy Director, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Farran, emphasized the importance of improving administrative and supervisory performance in prisons, developing human capacities, and facilitating and streamlining operational procedures. He stressed that deputy directors should serve as role models in both administrative and field performance while taking into account the security situation and following systematic, well-planned methods.

Meanwhile, the Director of Care and Rehabilitation at the Department, Brigadier General Khalil Al-Naami, highlighted the importance of strict adherence by directors or their deputies to organized management, the formulation of plans and contingency plans, and ensuring the protection of prisons and inmates through effective management covering internal affairs, care, and rehabilitation. He also stressed the need to establish clear procedures for receiving, housing, caring for, and rehabilitating inmates while safeguarding their rights.

The workshop also included guidance and training speeches delivered by several administrative and security officials, addressing the course content, objectives, and significance as part of the Department's plan for the current year. This reflects the directives of the Revolution Leader, the Supreme Political Council, and the government to improve prison conditions, provide the necessary care, housing, and rehabilitation for inmates.
