Consultative Meeting of Marib Tribal Sheikhs Addresses Saudi Occupation and Local Hardships

Sana'a: A consultative meeting of senior tribal sheikhs from Marib Province was held in Sana'a on Tuesday to review developments on the national scene, particularly in Marib, as well as the province's security, military, and social conditions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting discussed the situation in Marib City and Al-Wadi District, which, according to the participants, are under Saudi occupation and have been used as bases for attacks on other Yemeni provinces. They said mercenaries and terrorist groups had been deployed there and that local residents had been used as fuel for the fighting against their fellow Yemenis in Marib and other provinces, while displaced people had been used as human shields around the city.

Participants were briefed on the hardships facing Marib due to control over its oil, natural resources, revenues, the deprivation of its people of their rights and resources.

A statement read by Sheikh Hussein Hazeb affirmed support for the measures taken by Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and establish the equation of 'blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation' until Saudi enemy ends its aggression, lifts its blockade, and withdraws from Yemeni territory.

The statement also congratulated the Revolution Leader, the political and military leadership, and the Yemeni people on the victory achieved in Operation 'Allah Is Stronger and More Severe in Punishment,' which resulted in the liberation of districts in the western coast and Taiz.

It said the continued Saudi occupation of Marib City, Al-Wadi District and its impact on the people of Marib and other provinces was no longer tolerable, stressing the readiness of Marib tribes to work alongside the armed forces and security services to complete the liberation of the remaining districts.

The statement reaffirmed commitment to the initiative announced by the Revolution Leader and conveyed by the official spokesman on August 9, 2021, which was endorsed by the people of Marib, describing it as addressing many of the province's longstanding problems.

It called on sheikhs and dignitaries in the occupied areas to exercise reason and refrain from involving their sons in a battle serving Saudi enemy and its agendas in Yemen, stressing the importance of coordination to ensure security, peace for the city and its residents.
