Coordination Strategies Discussed to Boost Projects and Initiatives Financing with Cooperative Societies

Sana'a: A meeting was held on Saturday in Sana'a governorate, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Abdulqader Al-Jilani, to discuss ways to enhance coordination between the Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit and agricultural cooperative societies.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included participation from key figures such as the heads of the Planning and Finance Committee of the Local Council, Abdul Salam Al-Jaifi and Ali Al-Suhaili, respectively, the head of the agricultural sector, Engineer Ali Al-Qiri, the Director of the Social Affairs Office, Majid Al-Ghaili, and the Director of the Technical Secretariat, Mohammed Sharqan. They collectively reviewed the current projects being implemented by the Financing Unit in collaboration with cooperative societies.

The attendees addressed various challenges and difficulties faced by the Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, particularly concerning the mechanisms for utilizing and effectively directing granted loans towards the implementation of development projects included in the unit's approved plans.

The meeting concluded with the decision to assign the Executive Director of the Finance Unit and the Director of the Social Affairs Office to conduct meetings with the heads of cooperative societies. The aim is to study the difficulties they face, propose appropriate solutions and strategies, and submit these proposals to the governorate leadership for approval.

Additionally, the meeting mandated that cooperative societies in different sectors submit regular periodic reports. These reports are to highlight the agricultural activities and interventions financed through loans granted by the Projects Unit, ensuring proper governance of the financing and the achievement of the desired development goals.
