Sana'a: The General Directorate of Cultural and Social Activities at the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a cultural activity for the General Archery Federation during its fourth outdoor championship for three age categories: seniors, juniors, and women. This initiative aimed to merge cultural heritage with sportsmanship among participants.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event featured a lecture by Mohammed Al-Washah, who connected archery to Yemeni identity. He highlighted Yemen's historical reputation for weaponry, emphasizing the sport's role in preserving religious traditions and countering the threats posed by soft warfare. Al-Washah also underscored the importance of supporting the Palestinian cause and addressing the challenges posed by the Israeli enemy.
Following the lecture, a rally took place under the slogan "Readiness and Preparedness." A statement from the rally condemned the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Gaza and its ceasefire violations, which have intensified Palestinian suffering. The statement reiterated Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and its dedication to providing assistance through all available channels. It also cautioned against the soft war's detrimental effects on Arab and Islamic nations and highlighted the necessity of sustained mobilization through various activities.
The event also featured a cultural competition among the participating teams, moderated by Dr. Mohammed Haj. In the competition, the Martyr Al-Ghamari team emerged victorious over the Martyr Al-Sinwar team. In the girls' category, the Martyr Al-Qubari team defeated the Martyr Al-Mulsi team, while in the junior category, the Fatima Al-Zahra team won against the Lady Khadija team.
The cultural event was attended by key figures, including the Acting President of the Federation, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sayaghi, and the Director of the Social Activities Department, Riyadh Al-Amisi.
