Cultural Evening in Al Mahwit Marks Imam Zayd’s Martyrdom Anniversary

Al mahwit: The General Mobilization in Al Mahwit city organized a cultural evening on Thursday to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zayd bin Ali, known as the 'Ally of the Quran.' During the event, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate Ibrahim Sharaf Al-Din highlighted aspects of Imam Zayd's life and his struggle against injustice and tyranny.

According to Yemen News Agency, Sharaf Al-Din emphasized that the injustice inflicted upon Imam Zayd reflected the fear his principles and liberation-oriented vision created among forces of oppression and arrogance. He noted that Imam Zayd's approach of promoting virtue and preventing wrongdoing remains a source of inspiration for free people throughout history. Sharaf Al-Din added that the Yemeni people's steadfastness and sacrifices today in confronting aggression represent a practical continuation of Imam Zayd's path and the values of dignity and honor for which he stood until his martyrdom.

Cultural activist Mohammed Al-Marawi discussed the significance of Imam Zayd's revolution, describing it as a courageous expression of faith and a call for truth that contributed to strengthening the values of justice, freedom, and dignity. He called for drawing lessons from Imam Zayd's life in confronting aggression, raising social awareness, upholding principles of freedom and independence, and rejecting projects of domination and dependency.

Participants stressed the importance of commemorating the occasion to reinforce commitment to faith-based identity and steadfastness in defending the truth amid challenges and plots targeting the nation.
