Dhamar: A cultural event was held at Al-Madrasah Al-Shamsiyah Mosque in Dhamar city to commemorate the anniversary of the Great Battle of Badr for the year 1447 AH under the slogan: 'The Day of Al-Furqan and What We Can Learn from It to Confront Tyranny.' During the event, attended by Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Shura Council member Hassan Abdulrazzaq, Deputy Governor Mahmoud Al-Jabin, and General Mobilization official Ahmed Al-Dhurani, Ansar Allah Political Bureau member Dhaifullah Al-Shami highlighted the significance of the anniversary of the Battle of Badr in recalling the positions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), his mission, the key objectives and divine preparations that led to that historic battle.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Shami explained that the believers' departure to fight during the month of Ramadan demonstrates that the path of the noble Messenger was one of action and struggle, not submission, weakness, or complacency. Al-Shami pointed out that the believers who stood alongside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) possessed above all faith in their hearts, determination in their souls, steadfastness in their positions, and trust in Allah and His promise of victory.
He added that the Muslim nation today is living through a difficult and decisive reality similar to the early days of Islam, where the entire world mobilizes against it, seeking to eliminate the Muslim nation, pave the way for Jews, Christians to dominate and spread what he described as their deviant culture and objectives. He stressed that goodness and righteousness lie in following Allah's guidance and adhering to His Book, with jihad in His path as a fundamental pillar.
Al-Shami further noted that the battle today between the axis of resistance, the axis of disbelief, tyranny, and oppression is at its peak, affirming that the Yemeni people, under the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi and within the framework of the Quranic project, will stand as their ancestors from Al-Aws and Al-Khazraj once did in supporting the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and his message.
He said, 'The enemy knows that in Yemen there is a nation with values, principles, constants, and positions capable of forcing Jews and Christians to kneel. It possesses awareness and culture that have exposed realities and removed the masks from those hiding behind them. Just as the companions of the Prophet sharpened their weapons, the Yemeni people today sharpen their missiles and prepare them in confronting disbelief, hypocrisy, and the enemies of the nation. This is the spirit and the faith-based strategy that God intended in the Battle of Badr.'
He considered the anniversary an important occasion to draw lessons from the Battle of Badr and to revive the spirit of values, initiative, and readiness, noting that today's reality has become one of struggle and calling for mass participation in rallies of dignity and pride tomorrow, Friday afternoon.
For his part, Director of the General Authority of Endowments and Guidance office in the governorate, Faisal Al-Hatfi, reviewed the significance of the Battle of Badr, its motives, objectives, and the lessons derived from it as a decisive battle that marked the beginning of a new phase in Islamic history. He explained that the Day of Al-Furqan represented the rise of the Muslim nation and its victory in confronting challenges and dangers, changing the dark pre-Islamic reality in the Arabian Peninsula and spreading the light of Islam. It also marked a new stage in the spread of the Islamic message and a historic moment that moved the nation from hardship to dignity.
Al-Hatfi emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from the Battle of Badr, noting that victory comes from Allah, is not determined by numbers or equipment, and called for benefiting from its lessons in confronting what he described as Jewish arrogance and global hegemonic powers today.
