Sanaa:A cultural program was conducted by the General Administration for Cultural and Social Activity at the Ministry of Youth and Sports for participants in the September Holidays Equestrian Championship "Show Jumping," organized by the General Equestrian Federation in Sanaa.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program included an awareness lecture delivered by Ismail Al-Hamzi, focusing on the historical and ancient significance of equestrian sport and its connections to Arab and Islamic civilization. Al-Hamzi emphasized that equestrianism has been a symbol of courage, strength, and discipline throughout history.
He explained that equestrianism goes beyond merely riding a horse, highlighting its role in teaching patience, self-confidence, focus, and decision-making. Al-Hamzi pointed out that interacting with horses fosters values such as gentleness and responsibility, thanks to the care and attention required in their training.
The lecture also covered the attributes of a distinguished knight, including courage without recklessness, humility, patience, and mercy towards animals. Al-Hamzi highlighted the physical and mental benefits of equestrianism, urging participants to view it as a means of connecting with their Arab heritage.
The program concluded with an incentive cultural competition, attended by Dr. Jaber Al-Bawab, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth, Jamil Bishr, Assistant Secretary-General of the Equestrian Federation, and Sports Sector Supervisor Hani Al-Haimi. The event was well-received, with praise from the knights and participating entities.
