In his remarks, the Director of the Endowments and Guidance Office, Faisal Al-Hatfi, described the Hijra anniversary as a significant spiritual and historical milestone for drawing lessons from the civilizational project established by the Prophet Muhammad, based on building the individual and society on the values of faith, solidarity, and unity.
According to Yemen News Agency, Faisal Al-Hatfi explained that the Hijra was not merely a physical relocation from Mecca to Medina, but a strategic turning point in the course of the Islamic message, laying the foundations for building a state, a believing society capable of confronting challenges and carrying the message of Islam. Al-Hatfi noted that one of the first foundational steps embodied by the Hijra was the establishment of the mosque as a center of worship, education, guidance, and community governance. He stressed that the mosque in Islam plays a central role in shaping awareness, promoting moral values, and strengthening a sense of responsibility toward the nation’s issues.
He also highlighted the brotherhood established between the Muhajirun (emigrants) and Ansar (supporters) as a practical model of solidarity, compassion, and cooperation, which helped address the social and economic challenges faced by the early Muslim community, strengthening its cohesion and resilience. The director further emphasized that the Prophet’s wise leadership was a key factor in the success of the Hijra project through careful planning, human development, and internal stability, paving the way for the establishment of the Islamic state, the spread of justice and mercy.
He called for using the occasion to enhance awareness of the goals, values of the Hijra, to reinforce a spirit of work, development, and social solidarity, while adhering to authentic Islamic principles that have historically formed the basis of the nation’s strength and advancement. He added that commemorating the Hijra is an opportunity to renew connection with the Prophet’s biography and reflect on the meanings of sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in facing challenges, contributing to building a cohesive, conscious society capable of fulfilling its religious and national responsibilities.

He stated that the Hijra was not merely a change of place, but a strategic transformation in the Islamic mission from a phase of weakness to a phase of state-building and the establishment of a society capable of carrying the message of Islam, promoting justice and truth.
He pointed out that the Prophet faced major hardships before the Hijra, including the loss of key supporters such as his wife Khadijah al-Kubra and his uncle Abu Talib, yet he remained steadfast in fulfilling his mission, demonstrating the highest levels of patience and trust in Allah Almighty. Al-Washli stressed that one of the key lessons of the Hijra is the importance of following the Prophet’s example in ethics and responsibility, strengthening faith-based awareness, and promoting sacrifice and dedication in serving the nation and defending its just causes.
