Culture Minister Reviews National Museum Wall Restoration Progress

Sana'a: Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei conducted an inspection of the restoration project for the western wall of the National Museum, which spans over 80 meters and has suffered damage due to humidity. The inspection took place on Saturday, with the Minister closely examining the ongoing efforts to restore the wall.

According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. al-Yafei was accompanied by Essam al-Sunaini, the Acting Executive Director of the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund. During the visit, they reviewed the project's progress and ensured that the restoration work adhered strictly to archaeological specifications. The Minister reiterated the importance of maintaining the historical integrity of the wall, emphasizing its significance in reflecting Yemen's ancient civilization.

The restoration project is financially supported by the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund, which covers 85% of the costs, while the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums contributes the remaining 15%. Dr. al-Yafei highlighted the collaborative effort as essential to preserving Yemen's cultural heritage and stressed the ongoing need to protect such historical landmarks for future generations.
