Saada: Engineer Faris Al-Shamahi, Deputy Director General of the Central Emergency Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development, conducted an inspection visit to the Shada Directorate to assess its requirements for road projects. He was joined by Eng. Abdulrab Al-Qadi, the unit’s representative in Saada Governorate, along with specialized technical staff.
According to Yemen News Agency, the delegation engaged with residents to understand their demands for new road projects aimed at facilitating movement and access to markets and essential services. During the visit, the delegation also inspected previously completed projects, which included the expansion and maintenance of the Al-Aqoum – Bani Al-Anaq Road spanning three kilometers, the paving of the Thaher Hamdan – Ras Al-Jabal – Al-Matab Road, and the Mu’taq Al-Arji – Thaher Hamdan Road. Additionally, the construction of an 8.5-kilometer sector road connecting Al-Namoush and Al-Matab was reviewed, a project benefiting over 5,000 people in the Shadda and Razih Directorates and significantly reducing the travel distance between them.
Al-Shamahi emphasized the necessity of enhancing efforts and community involvement to further develop road infrastructure, particularly in isolated mountainous areas where road roughness poses significant challenges for residents in transporting basic materials. He also highlighted the importance of executing additional development projects, including schools and health facilities, to improve the quality of life for citizens.
This visit aligns with the Intervention Unit’s plan to address the needs of rural and remote areas and enhance their infrastructural framework.
