Deputy Foreign Minister and UN Coordinator Discuss Future Cooperation

Sanaa: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met with the acting UN Resident Coordinator, Laurent Bukera, to discuss the future of cooperation with the United Nations. During the meeting, Abu Ras emphasized the importance of depoliticizing humanitarian work, urging the United Nations to review its performance in Yemen and adhere to national laws and humanitarian principles, which he believes would help restore confidence in the organization.

According to Yemen News Agency, Abu Ras reiterated the Sanaa government's commitment to continue communication and cooperation with the United Nations and international organizations. This cooperation aims to serve the Yemeni people and alleviate their humanitarian suffering. He highlighted the necessity of addressing issues and concerns through dialogue and mutual understanding, which would help resolve obstacles hindering cooperation and improve the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

Laurent Bukera, the acting UN Resident Coordinator, expressed the United Nations' commitment to providing ongoing support to Yemen and contributing to addressing the existing humanitarian challenges. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for Political Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Sabri.
