Deputy Foreign Minister Criticizes Saudi Arabia in Meeting with UN Envoy’s Office Director

Sana'a:Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras held a meeting with Mohammed Al-Ghannam, director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, to discuss recent national developments.

According to Yemen News Agency, Abu Ras strongly condemned Saudi Arabia for its escalation and attacks on civilians and infrastructure, labeling them as clear breaches of international humanitarian law.

He emphasized Sana'a's dedication to achieving a fair and lasting peace, placing responsibility on Saudi Arabia for initiating the escalation and its repercussions. Abu Ras called on the UN Special Envoy to exert pressure on Saudi Arabia to cease its escalation and renew peace efforts in Yemen.

During the meeting, Al-Ghannam reaffirmed the UN's commitment to facilitating peace in Yemen through its ongoing efforts. The session was also attended by Deputy Head of the Special Envoy's Office Mohammed Abu Jahja and Political Affairs and Coordination Officer Ahmed Al-Awjari.
