Taiz: A meeting was held on Tuesday in Taiz Governorate, chaired by Dr. Najeeb Al-Qubati, Deputy Minister of Health and Environment, and attended by Tila Mohammed, Head of the M©decins Sans Fronti¨res (MSF)-Holland mission in Yemen. The meeting focused on the transition of healthcare services and future operational plans for the region.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included key figures such as Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakel, Director of the Health and Environment Office in the province, and Dr. Al-Muntasir Ali Saeed, Director of Taiz General Hospital. Discussions centered around transferring the Mother and Child Hospital to Taiz General Hospital and ensuring sustained incentives for medical staff after MSF's withdrawal.
During the discussion, Dr. Najeeb Al-Qubati highlighted the ministry's dedication to equipping and operating Taiz General Hospital. This initiative is seen as a critical move to address the healthcare needs of citizens and ease their suffering in the region.
Dr. Al-Mutawakel conveyed appreciation for the ongoing support from the Ministry of Health and local authorities, acknowledging their role in bolstering the healthcare sector in Taiz. He also recognized MSF's significant contributions to providing medical and humanitarian aid to patients.
Tila Mohammed, representing the MSF-Holland mission, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Ministry of Health, local authorities, and the Health Office, which has facilitated MSF's operations in the area.
