Al-jawf: Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Murad Al-Shaif, conducted a comprehensive field visit to Al-Jawf Governorate to review efforts aimed at expanding the agricultural sector in the province.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Al-Shaif inspected the Irteqa Market in Hazm District, where he received a detailed explanation about the quantities and types of agricultural imports, as well as the procedures in place to market local products and encourage farmers to cultivate grains for achieving food security.
Additionally, Deputy Minister Al-Shaif emphasized the necessity of supporting farmers in land reclamation and expanding agricultural areas, with a focus on marketing and exporting crops, particularly during the current citrus season.
He also reviewed seized items and agricultural supplies at the Hazm Customs Point, stressing the importance of coordination between customs and the agricultural sector to facilitate the delivery of services and supplies in accordance with regulations and laws.
The tour also included a visit to the Bart Directorate, where he highlighted the community's role in cultivating suitable lands and activating community initiatives in the field of water barriers. The visit concluded with a tour of the historic city of Baraqish to explore the archaeological landmarks that reflect the civilization of Ma'in, which relied on agriculture and natural resources.
