Dhamar: The Governor of Dhamar, Mohammed Al-Bukhayti, met today with a committee from the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development to discuss an analytical study aimed at developing and enhancing the financial resources of administrative units in the province.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the committee head Mohammed Al-Samawi, committee members Hamza Al-Sayyad and Mohammed Faze', alongside directors of relevant executive offices in the province. Governor Al-Bukhayti emphasized the local authority's commitment to developing financial resources, regulating collection processes according to the law, combating corruption, and ensuring justice and equity.
Governor Al-Bukhayti addressed the ongoing efforts to reform state institutions and enhance their role in serving society, as well as the challenges faced by the local authority. He stressed the importance of support from central authorities to aid in performing their duties and highlighted the role of such studies in correcting imbalances and re-evaluating financial resource fees to benefit the public interest.
Committee head Al-Samawi explained that the field visit was in line with directives from the Revolution Leader and the Presidency, focusing on the necessity of developing local authority resources. He outlined the committee's mission to prepare an analytical field study to evaluate and classify resources, assess economic feasibility, and regulate resources collected on the ground.
The study aims to reform the current situation, reconsider fees, frame them legally, and address gaps and imbalances. It seeks to utilize expertise from relevant provincial authorities to correct or amend fees, merge some, or cancel those that are not feasible. Al-Samawi also emphasized identifying negative effects from some entities' appropriation of local resources and proposing solutions.
