Discussing Mechanism for Improving Services for People with Disabilities in Taiz

Taiz: A broad meeting was held in Taiz governorate today to discuss the mechanism for improving care and rehabilitation services for people with disabilities in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the local social unit official Hames Al-Habbari, Director of the Social Affairs Office Majed Al-Barkani, Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled in the governorate Mohammed Othman, his deputy Sabri Al-Maamari, and officials from relevant associations and centers. The discussions addressed aspects related to organizing and developing services for persons with disabilities in Al-Hawban and within Taiz city, emphasizing the necessity of opening additional branches for the remaining associations in Al-Hawban.

The meeting highlighted the importance of adhering to applicable regulations and systems to prevent overlap of tasks among various associations. It aimed to enhance effective coordination and ensure the provision of integrated services. Several measures were approved based on directives from the local authority leadership, the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, and the Central Evaluation Committee. Mechanisms were established to address existing issues, guaranteeing institutional stability and the continuity of services provided to persons with disabilities in the governorate.

During the meeting, the social unit official underscored the importance of strengthening the services for people with disabilities. There was a call to intensify efforts to ensure this group receives necessary support for full integration into society. The local authority expressed its commitment to facilitating anything that contributes to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
