Hodeidah: The Chairman of the General Investment Authority, Mohammed Ishaq, met with Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works for the Roads Sector, to discuss a preliminary study for a railway construction project in Hodeidah Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on the project's objectives and path, which are expected to significantly enhance the transportation infrastructure in the region. The railway aims to facilitate trade flow and reduce transportation costs by connecting Ras Isa Port with Al-Salif Port and extending to Bajil District. The proposed railway is approximately 99 kilometers long and has an estimated cost of $150 million, covering essential facilities, diversions, supports, rails, and other infrastructure.
