Sanaa: An extensive meeting of the local authority and executive offices in the Capital Secretariat, chaired by the head of the Social Affairs Committee, Hammoud Al Naqeeb, addressed service plans and performance enhancement during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday of 1447H.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included the heads of the Planning Committee, Sharaf Al Hadi, and the Services Committee, Adel Al Aqari, among others, approved a comprehensive cleanliness campaign. This initiative aims to remove street vendors from markets and streets to facilitate traffic flow. The campaign will commence on the eve of Eid across all districts, involving cleanliness, awareness, public works, traffic, and security teams under the supervision of secretariat leadership and district directors.
Key figures such as the directors of the Cleanliness Project, Ibrahim Al Sirabi, and the Slaughterhouses Project, Ahmed Idris, reviewed plans to enhance fieldwork and improve cleanliness and garden services. The preparations also include arrangements at the Slaughterhouses Office for receiving and processing Eid sacrificial animals and raising awareness about proper slaughtering practices.
The meeting also evaluated the achievements of a joint campaign aimed at removing disfigured appearances and addressing traffic congestion, implemented by the Public Works Office in collaboration with the Traffic Police and the Cleanliness Project over the past weeks.
Further discussions focused on implementing work programmes during the Eid holiday, distributing tasks and responsibilities, and the role of districts in improving performance levels. The meeting emphasized teamwork to ensure the success of the cleanliness campaign and enhance the capital's aesthetic appearance during Eid.
The programme also includes Eid visits to security and traffic personnel in the field. Al Naqeeb stressed the importance of readiness and the execution of work programmes to raise performance efficiency and ensure traffic flow during Eid, urging district supervisors to oversee cleanliness campaigns and coordinate with relevant offices.
Al Naqeeb praised the efforts of cleanliness, public works, and traffic workers in reducing traffic congestion and enhancing the city's appearance. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Al Shami and Abdul Halim Al Sukari reviewed directives related to the preparation and readiness plan for Eid al-Adha.
