Discussion on Aspects of Cooperation Between Health Ministry & Sana’a University to Develop Medical Education

Sana'a: A meeting held on Wednesday at Sana'a University, which brought together Minister of Public Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban and the University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, discussed cooperation between the two sides to develop the medical education system and improve the level of health services.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari, addressed mechanisms for updating clinical training programs for undergraduate students and postgraduate (MD) studies, with a focus on expanding partnerships with teaching hospitals in line with academic standards for preparing qualified medical personnel with scientific competence and practical skills.

It also reviewed opportunities to activate the community role of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences by involving faculty members in providing quality healthcare services and benefiting from their specialized expertise in supporting the health sector, in addition to contributing to supplying hospitals with qualified medical staff within the framework of community service.

The meeting further addressed the situation of Kuwait University Hospital and the importance of improving the quality of healthcare services provided through developing operational infrastructure, updating work mechanisms, and introducing specialized medical services that enhance performance efficiency and meet patients' needs.

The importance of continued coordination and integration between the university and the Ministry of Public Health and Environment was emphasized, in order to strengthen the link between academic and practical aspects, ensure quality outcomes, and improve the level of healthcare services provided to the community.
