Discussion on Aspects Related to Strengthening Role of Khadir Agricultural Cooperative Association in Taiz

Taiz: A meeting was held today, chaired by the Deputy Governor of Taiz for Development Affairs, Abdul Wasi Al-Shamsi, to discuss aspects related to strengthening the role of the Khadir Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association in following up and implementing economic and development activities in the district, with the aim of increasing local production and achieving self-sufficiency.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the head of the agricultural sector in the governorate, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi, the coordinator of the Binyan Foundation, Iyad Awahj, representatives of the Cooperative Union branch, Amer Al-Ahdal and Sha'alan Abdulkarim, and the head of the Khadir Association, Mohammed Abduljalil. They addressed the mechanism for organizing work in the district's women's development centers, conducting a survey of productive families to organize the production process and direct it according to local market needs, in coordination with partners at each stage of work.

During the meeting, the Deputy Governor discussed the new work mechanism for women's development centers and productive families through cooperative associations, and the organization of productive families into specialized production clusters according to the new work guidelines. He emphasized the importance of enhancing agricultural production through integrated intervention according to value chains via the production clusters previously formed by the association, and organizing the marketing process for agricultural products to contribute to improving the producer farmer's income.

The meeting also reviewed reports on the evaluation results of the economic empowerment project with cattle, implemented by the Khadir Association and the Cooperative Union branch in the governorate and the team assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture. They discussed the observations contained in the evaluation reports to identify the most prominent issues and ways to address them with relevant authorities.
