Sana'a: A meeting held in the Capital Secretariat, attended by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim and the Capital Secretary Dr. Hammoud Abbad, discussed ways to develop and advance the real estate sector in the capital.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which was also attended by the Secretary-General of the local council in the Secretariat Ameen Jamaan, and deputy ministers for the Public Works sectors at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, Engineer Ali Rajeh for Public Works and Engineer Wadie Juhaf for Planning, as well as officials from the Public Works and Services sectors in the Capital Secretariat, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi and Engineer Abdulfttah Al-Sharafi, reviewed the steps and procedures implemented by the Capital Secretariat in coordination with the private sector to address challenges facing the development of the real estate sector and to provide all necessary facilitations.
The meeting approved the formation of a joint committee from the Ministry of Transport, Public Works, and the Capital Secretariat to develop and update the building law in a way that encourages investment in the real estate sector, particularly in the construction of investment towers on designated main streets, and to overcome obstacles in this regard.
Qahim and Abbad emphasized strengthening cooperation and joint work between the ministry and the Capital Secretariat, and enhancing coordination among all relevant authorities to regulate and develop the real estate sector, while providing all facilitations necessary to support its growth and address challenges facing investors in this vital economic sector.
They also stressed the importance of concerted efforts and updating laws and regulations related to this sector, particularly those concerning urban planning, in order to encourage capital investment in real estate according to well-studied, precise visions and plans.
The meeting was attended by the Secretariat's deputies Dr. Qanef Al-Morani and Ali Al-Lahji, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Works Sector Engineer Abdullah Rawiah, Director of the Public Works Office Engineer Abdulssalam Al-Jaradi, his deputy Engineer Abdulatif Al-Wali, and the Vice President of the Real Estate Development Sector at the Capital Secretariat Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Al-Kuhalani.
